Benefits of the NEW lightweight MOLLE Kit
Templar Assault Systems (TAS) manufacture some of the best MOLLE pouches and have been doing so for many years. The recent advances in technology within the fabric industry have made it possible for TAS to come up with the latest lightweight MOLLE compatible products but at a greatly reduced overall weight than before.
Lightweight MOLLE Pouches
Previously these MOLLE pouches and belts have been manufactured with 1000D Cordura materials. The main reason for this is the exceptional strength it gave to pouches, belts and many other products by TAS. This was great news for guys in the field as their kit wouldn’t fail on them when they need it most. The only downfall of this was that as more and more pouches where added to the belts and yokes the heavier it got. With some assemblies reaching over several kg even when empty.
TAS have been working closely with Crye & Duro on some new material technology. The new range of lightweight MOLLE pouches MOLLE belts from TAS uses a new advanced tactical nylon which is manufactured here in Great Britain. It incorporates both the 500D & 330D Cordura fabric which is just as strong, durable and abrasion resistant as before but with almost half the weight.
Lightweight MOLLE Pouches – The Future Soldier
Weight reduction is everything when it comes to future soldier programmes, so saving a few grams anywhere possible is a must. TAS realised that by saving a few grams here and there, they can significantly reduce the weight of a standard battle belt configuration by over 1.2 kg!
The new lightweight MOLLE fold back system says goodbye to press studs (as this way commonly one of the weakest points) and hello to the new fold back tab system with hook closure. This redesigned system enables the pouches to be held tighter to the carrying platform which also reduces some of the secondary fragmentation problem.
All of the new TAS advanced tactical range will be manufactured in genuine MULTICAM® pattern. RVOps are already supplying this new kit which you can find in the RVOps Load Carrying department.
