Petzl Zipka 2 Plus

The new Zipka Plus 2 has pushed the bounds once again.

The Zipka Plus 2 to give you the option of either, non tactical super bright white light (visible from 5000m), or dimmed white light if you prefer. It also gives you the option of a permanent or strobing red light. The ultra-compact Zipka Plus 2 headlamp is equipped with the ZIP retractable cord system.

The Zipka Plus 2 can be carried on the head, the wrist, the ankle: ideal for keeping permanently in the bottom of the rucksack, in the glove compartment, or in your pockets to avoid ever being caught out by darkness

The Zipka Plus 2 integrates two light sources for versatility: one white, high output LED and one red LED. The White LED delivers 50 lumens in max mode and lights up to 35 meters. In the economic mode, it can reach a burn time of 140 hours. The red LED provides lighting to preserve night vision or can become a blinking light for increased safety. It can also be used with lithium batters to decrease weight or increase performance in cold weather.

Having spoken with those who have used these little beauties on Ops, they have commented that, unlike conventional torches the light frequency emitted from the diodes doesn't affect night vision goggles
