Camping Stoves

Gas cookers & camping stoves are a constant source of debate amongst the military and an emotive subject on a par with boots: each soldier will have their favourite gas cooker, whether they be the simple cheap gas cookers, solid fuel stoves, the iconic Jetboil, MSR, Optimus Crux, the new Jetboil Sol or the Primus Omnifuel – all have their pros and cons and all cater for different needs depending on the individual. Our range extends from the simple gas cooker to technical multifuel cookers. The most basic camping stove we sell is the Metal Mug and cooker. Perfect for use as a hexamine burning cooker, the metal mug and cooker is a simple straight forward military cooking system.

JetBoil or Jet Boil

By far the most popular gas cooker is the JetBoil series of camping stoves. The most popular is the JetBoil Flash and this is turning out to be the ultimate military cooker. In addition to the JetBoil Flash are the new JetBoils including the JetBoil Zip, the Sol Aluminium & the Sol Ti. In addition the JetBoil range has many well thought out attributes allowing the individual to prepare their tucker, scran or scoff quickly and in relative safety. Their are accessories that compliment the range which include the JetBoil hanging kit, Jetboil pot support and stabiliser and the Jetboil maintenance kit.

Primus Stoves

Primus stoves have created a reputation in the camping stove, gas cooker & cooking stove markets with their multifuel cookers that are second-to-none. The Primus Omnifuel & Primus Multifuel have been deployed to the far reaches of the world in Bergens, grips and day sacs and have been used, abused and appreciated. At the outset of operations in Afghanistan the Primus Omnifuel and Optimus Multifuel’s adaptability and reliability kept soldiers fed whilst waiting for res upplies of hexi and gas. Cookers like the Primus Omnifuel and Optimus Multifuel makes cooking a pleasure, not a windswept rain soaked chore - whether that’s Naphtha in Norway with the Royal Marines or avtur with the RAF the stoves will run on a variety fuels that include meths, kerosene and petrol.

Gas ....no hassle option.

There are those who prefer the no hassle, no nonsense gas cookers which incorporate gas. The Primus Gravity is a low profile, lightweight cooking stove which is very stable – perfect for military application. If you are vehicle borne the robust & large double burning Primus Twin Stove maybe worthy of consideration, however if your role is a man packing role then perhaps the Primus Micron TI is more suitable in your webbing.

Optimus

Optimus stoves have created a reputation as affordable, reliable and easy to use gas cookers and camping stoves. The Optimus Nova Multifuel cooker allows the user the luxury of being able to use it with a variety of fuels. Most service personnel who have been deployed to the far reaches of the world have used and appreciated the Optimus Nova’s adaptability. At the opposite end of the scale is the Optimus Crux - one of the most compact lightweight gas stoves we sell, it is a firm favourite amongst service personnel. Couple the Optimus Crux with the Terra Weekend HE cookset and you have a very lightweight & compact cook set suitable for operations and exercise.
